so ive been having a couple thoughts I’d like to work out ok here goes it

OK so in general, on tumblr, from what i’ve seen, feminists are very adamant that gender are nothing but made up, societal, and limiting sets of rules that have come from humans, religions, patriarchy etc.

Feminists also are strong in that trans/non-gender-binary/agender etc individuals should be recognized, its a real thing, etc etc and they should have all the same rights and be recognized as whatever gender they feel to be.

But I just beg the question, if gender is a made up set of oppressive rules, wouldn’t transgender identity be a made up identity, as the gender expression relies on gender rules and feelings in the first place? Or if transgender is a true, legitimate experience (which I 99.5% believe it is, the last .5% is why Im making this post), then doesn’t that imply that gender is not a societal force but rather an ingrained part of who we are as either female or male(not penis vs vagina but femininity vs masculinity)?

I’m not just randomly spewing - I would actually like people to drop by my ask and weigh in?? I’ve tagged some bloggers who I think might help, instead of spamming everyone’s ask hehe. PLEASE I would like to hear from a variety of different people, queer, straight, trans, females, males, etc, SHMANKS!!
